At Edcons, sustainability means investing in people. We fund quality education for over 200 underprivileged children and champion workplace inclusion, with women making up 33% of our team. By fostering equal access to knowledge and opportunity, we help build resilient communities — because true sustainability starts with empowering the minds and hands behind every product.

At Edcons, we believe in empowering communities through education. As part of our social activities, we proudly support the education of 201 students from underprivileged backgrounds across various learning levels—from Montessori level to Class 4. We ensure that each child receives quality learning tailored to their developmental stage. The curriculum is designed to nurture curiosity and confidence. Younger students explore subjects such as Mathematics, English, Bengali, Environmental Studies (EVS), General Knowledge, Drawing, Singing, and Physical Training. As they progress to primary levels, we introduce a broader spectrum including Science, History, Geography, Computer (Theory and Practical), Conversation, and even Tabla classes (a pair of small, different-sized hand drums used primarily in Indian music), encouraging both intellectual and creative growth. We aim not just to educate, but to inspire. With trained educators and structured programs, our initiative provides a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that helps shape responsible and capable future citizens. Education is the cornerstone of sustainable development—and through our commitment, we strive to make meaningful and lasting change in the lives of these children and their families.

At Edcons Exports, we believe that diversity strengthens our team and our impact. With 276 women in a workforce of 836, women represent 33% of the Edcons family a significant presence in a traditionally male-dominated industry. This representation reflects our ongoing commitment to social inclusion, gender equality, and the empowerment of women through stable employment, skills development, and growth opportunities. Every bag we produce carries the mark of craftsmanship shaped by hands and hearts from all backgrounds.

We prioritize creating a safe and respectful work environment, conducting half-yearly Posh (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) training to ensure a harassment-free culture for all employees.
